Just because we now have a start date of 2nd of April for the Daffodil Line doesn’t mean the fundraising stops – far from it. Like any good parents, we have to make sure our “new arrival” has all the support it needs to thrive. So we’re very thankful for a pledge of support from Newent’s new foodie destination, the Wye Inn.
April looks like being a splendid month for Newent and surrounding areas. Not only do we have the new 232 Daffodil Line Bus service to look forward to, we also have the opening of a new foodie venue – the Wye Inn, which looks set to be one of the most exciting places to eat in the area.
The Wye Inn will open in early April at the old Red Lion in Newent’s Market Square. The team behind the Wye Inn, husband and wife Sam and Emma Morgan, and Great British Menu chef Andy Sheridan already run two highly-rated restaurants in the West Midlands.
To mark their launch, the Wye Inn are offering £35 gift vouchers, with £5 from the sale of each voucher donated to support the Daffodil Line.
It’s great that a new business who are already pushing the boat out to make our historic town centre pub really shine are also taking the time and trouble to support our bus service, which is so important to the community.
Sample manus are making us hungry already. The Inn will be split into two indoor areas, with classic pub food and drinks downstairs and a more formal tasting menu in the upstairs dining room.
There’s lots going on in the garden too, with a terrace, dining pods, and wood-fired pizza ovens.
So why not treat yourself, support a new business, AND the Daffodil Line? You can get a gift voucher from the website here. We think they could go down a storm as a Mother’s Day gift.
